Core purpose

Our marketing and fundraising teams give us the reach and resources to support thousands of people every year. They communicate the impact of our work to our supporters, staff and disabled people and raise vital funds so that our work can continue.

Day-to-day

Every year we need to raise over £150 million to provide outstanding care and support for disabled people in the UK. To deliver this, our marketing and fundraising teams engage with our supporters, encourage individuals and organisations to donate, promote our core messages and campaign to create a better world for the 1 in 6 people who are disabled.

Impact

  • Our 'End 15 Minute Care' campaign resulted in 30% of councils committing to changing their policies on unacceptably short care visits.
  • In 2016 our London Marathon runners raised £210,000.
  • In 2016 Leonard Cheshire volunteers gave over 330,000 hours of their time - worth around £2.5m.
  • In 2016 our Facebook ‘likes’ increased by over 80%.

Roles

Our marketing and fundraising roles are many and varied - from liaising with the media and writing press releases, to giving people a chance to tell their story, to raising money in all sorts of different ways.
